Taataraamoa, our native thorny stemmed climber.
A much avoided plant in the ngahere/bush, notorious for her thorns becoming quickly entangled in clothing as you make your way .
While it is this thorny climber can often pierce ones fingers when working with her, she will make each prick worth every moment of calm she can offer.
Taataramoa has a beautifully soft flavour, I have married her with more common fragrant flowers , such as Chamomile, Rose and Lavender, that aim to work in synergetic harmonies that help balance of energies of old traditions both in Te ao Maaori ( the Maaori world ) and Te Ao Paakeha, bringing one into the now and a state of Mauri tau.....calm/peace/balanced/relax.
Avoid consumption with allergies to the daisy family.
Avoid or seek medical advice before use when hapu, unless plants medicines and ferments are an existing part of your diet already.
